I had been going to Louisville to a dentist for many years, and I knew that Dr. Nichols was coming here to merge with Dr. Harvey. And so, my husband and I decided we would give him a try because we’ve known him since he was a little boy. We were very well pleased when we came here. He’s always had a lot of integrity and hardworking, he’s very intelligent, he’s a leader, and thinks outside the box, and you need that as a dentist, you know, when there’s a problem because not all problems are the same.

Well, I think with anything, you know, you want to feel like your kids are being taken care of, you know, whether it’s at their school, during their sporting events, or when you’re going to see a doctor. And that’s always been the case here with the staff and dentists. You know, my kids are now at the point where I used to be…I have to be by their side, and they’re comfortable enough coming here now that, you know, “Dad doesn’t have to be right beside whatever I’m in for when I’m here.” They trust the staff and they love the dentist and it’s just been a great experience. That’s why we won’t go anywhere else.
So, I had braces in middle school, and I never wore my retainer after. So, my teeth pretty much went back to how they were before braces. So, I voiced those concerns to him and he felt like I would be perfect for Invisalign. That was a super easy process. I was very surprised by that. I was very worried that they would be noticeable. They were not at all. People did not even know I had Invisalign. When I came in, he did the mold, which is super easy.
Maybe a week, all the trays came in and started the process. And it was very, very easy to switch your trays out and your teeth straighten up over time. Yeah, I was very happy with the results, and it means everything. I’ve always been very self-conscious of my teeth, and it’s actually the first thing I look at when I look at someone. Teeth and shoes. I don’t know why.
But I feel like… I don’t know. I think if you have the confidence to want to smile more, then that’s just everything, really, for confidence. It’s an investment, right, to do Invisalign, I think it’s one of the best investments you can make, you know, for yourself to build the confidence. I think if you’re wanting to have that, obviously, you’re self-conscious about your teeth not being straight. So, I would say just go for it and make that investment in yourself.
I had some bridge work done in the past and probably right when I retired from the military. And that’s been 22, 23 years ago. And then eventually, you know, we like to think everything’s going to last forever, but they broke loose, they became loose, and they finally fell out. So I came up here and made an appointment, and probably, you know, I had everything fixed in one day. But I had to come back so they could make sure everything was great. In the meanwhile, my fronts, I’ve got partials up front. Lo and behold, they fell out as well. Now, those have been in there for probably 35, 40 years. And they put everything back together and been smiling ever since.
I was being worked on at the VA, nothing against the VA. They do great work. But, you know, it was inconvenient for me because I live here in the E-town area and I had to go back and forth to Zorn Avenue to them. So that was one inconvenience. And then I was up there. I mean, they have a big schedule. They got a lot of veterans they have to deal with. So when you get in, you may only be in for an hour and a half, hour at a time, and it may not be long enough to get the procedure done. So now you’re rescheduling. Here, they take you all the way through till you’re done. And that was great. Big difference.
I guess they know you. You know, the relationship you build in here with everybody. As soon as you come in, I mean, he may talk to you more about, hey, what’s going on with your life and everything else than he is when he’s actually working on you. And some may think, “Well, that’s an inconvenience.” Well, no, it pretty much puts you at ease. And you’ve got a relationship with the individuals here. So it’s pretty cool.
The staff is really friendly and really helpful. I tell you one thing I really like about, they’re really thorough. They make sure everything’s done right and you don’t feel rushed. Like, I’ve been to other places and it seems like they just wanna get in and get out, but it seems like they take their time to really pay attention to what’s going on, what you need, and make sure it’s done right.
And it puts my mind at ease. It makes me comfortable. So that’s the big reason why I’ll keep coming back here.
Dr. Ailey’s very friendly, very friendly, very personable. Like I said, she’s very thorough. I loved how she took the time, and the staff here, who takes the time to pay attention to what’s going on. And a lot of conversation, unfortunately, it’s hard to conversate back, though, when you’ve got a bunch of stuff in your mouth.
Honestly, the quality of care was just amazing. They take the time to make sure that you’re comfortable and informed. They actually really explain what’s going on and the options, which I really appreciate. I’ve told friends and family this should be their new dentist. And I’ve told them that because of their attention to detail and their friendliness, and the fact that they don’t seem like they’re trying to get you the most expensive procedure.
They’re trying to get you the one that fits you best. And that means everything to me. And it’s why I would definitely recommend it to any of my friends and family, for sure.
The membership program, it offers a discount to, you know, off of future services. And I don’t know this, don’t remember the specifics, but they give you the brochure and the literature to know it. But, I mean, I think it helps with some cleanings and some others. But the big thing is it pretty much pays for itself right off the bat because having a crown put on is not a cheap thing.
I mean, it’s just not a cheap thing. And it takes a percentage off of that procedure. So it pretty much paid for itself in the one procedure. So it was kind of an easy sale. And, I mean, I would say it’s probably good if you’re just going in for routine cleaning and stuff like that because, you know, a couple of visits a year, it’s going to pay for itself.
So, but, yeah, no, that was absolutely an easy sale. And I would recommend it. I thought I had dental insurance. And that’s why my wife set it up here because they accepted our insurance. Once you read further into it, the insurance owner covered it for pediatric dentistry. So my kids are good, but not me. But they helped me out. So it wasn’t near as expensive as I thought it was going to be.
I had cracked a tooth, the far back molar, and it was a lot of pain when I’d bite down on something. And I had had a bad experience with other dentists of late. And I was so afraid I was going to have to get a root canal. I had a root canal done, and I won’t name the names, but it didn’t go so well for me, and I just didn’t want a root canal. But I also didn’t want to lose the tooth. And I came here expecting, fully expecting, I was going to have to get a root canal. But they took the time to really assess it. They x-rayed it, made sure that I was doing the right thing. They told me they would rather do a root canal, just to be sure. But they took the time to look it over and make sure, and they gave me the option, you know. And they managed to save the tooth and not do a root canal, which was amazing. So now I’ve got a shiny crown on the tooth. So anyways.
So they got me in really quick, thankfully, because I was in a lot of pain. And like I said before, they really assessed what I needed done. And they got me fixed up that day with a temporary crown, and I came back in a couple weeks later and got the permanent one. That was the thing that really impressed me, though, was when I came back to get the permanent one. They put the thing in, it fit so, it fit good to me. I felt like, but they took the time, and they kept polishing on it and grinding on it and stuff. But they got me in and got me out quick, because they, you know. But yet they took the time to make sure everything was done right. So that means a lot to me. Really professional and friendly.

This dental office is not only compromised of knowledgeable professionals, but they’re also a very friendly group of people. From this office’s early days of just Dr Harvey, and Susan, his trusty hygienist, to its growth into the impressive office it’s become with 3 dentists, several hygienists and a large, capable team to support them. I was in caring, capable hands when I first entered this office 15 years ago, and I’m still in friendly capable hands today. My teeth and gums are healthy, which keeps my lips smiling. So Go Team Go, and keep on spreading those pretty smiles!

Couldn’t be happier with my experience. I called a few other dentists who couldn’t get me in until June; Dr. Nichols was able to schedule me for the next day! The staff was super friendly and communicative throughout the process – I’ll definitely be coming back for future dental needs.

This is one of the best places I have ever been to have dental work. The staff ( Dr. Nichols’s, Tasha, Andrea, Beverley and more) I highly recommend it. I had a root canal crack from a previous place and the team there went right to work on how it fit me best to fix it. In the end I got a new bridge. I have also had two cleaning and a crown. The work was outstanding.

I had an excellent experience. In fact, I have an excellent experience every time I visit Dr. Nichols. The staff is fantastic and the culture is excellent. Typically, we accept dreading the dentist as part of life, but you don’t have to when you go to Dr. Nichols! I would definitely recommend checking them out!

Chipped my tooth, and Dr. Nichols was able to get me in the next day. His office assistants were very nice, and Dr. Nichols did a great job repairing my filling. Will definitely be returning for all my dental work.

I had an emergency. Part of a filling fell out. They got my in same day, less than 2 hours from the incident. Dr Nichols is funny, caring and does excellent work. I’m a nervous wreck and both his dental assistants and he make sure that we have nothing to worry about.

I’ve been coming there about 2 years. Sherry always does a wonderful job and she is very gentle and I appreciate that. I’ve also had a crown done and coming back for another one. I wouldn’t imagine going anywhere else. Great job! Thanks 😊
